Who We Are
pdxdog.com* is an online community for people who love dogs to (1) discover useful information and resources concerning their pups, and (2) shop for unique, high quality, hard-to-find dog products and services.
*Curious about our name? Really, it's quite simple. We're based in Portland, Oregon USA. PDX is code for Portland International Airport and a nickname for our city coined by locals. In 2006, Dog Fancy magazine rated Portland as the nation's "Best City for Dogs" based on the number of canine-friendly businesses and dog parks, access to top veterinary professionals, the adoption rate of local animal shelters and other factors. According to Dog Fancy, Portland is "one giant dog paradise." We couldn't agree more. We're so proud we're part of Portland, we decided to make Portland a part of our name.
Meet Andrea Schneider
I am the owner of pdxdog.com. In 2005, I opened Pearl Retriever, a small, brick-and-mortar business in Portland's famous shopping district, The Pearl. From this location, I launched the Pups of Portland Calendar project, a well-received fundraising event for Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital, the city's only nonprofit emergency and critical care animal hospital. In 2007, I closed Pearl Retriever and started pdxdog.com.
Meet Ellie
Ellie is ... well, Ellie. She is composed and unto herself. Unlike most Golden Retrievers, she is not outwardly emotional. She is extremely loyal and an outstanding athlete. She loves people (almost as much as her Artisan Dog Feeder!) and is very communicative. She's also very smart and difficult to fool.

Meet the Artists
Sam and Kevin are the fabulous artists behind the Artisan Dog Feeders. Kevin is a master woodworker who carves, constructs, assembles and sands by day and moonlights in a rock band at night. When not finishing feeders or hiking with her hounds, Sam enjoys yoga, sports, horseback riding and everything orange. Both Sam and Kevin do remarkable work, are great people and really care that each Artisan Feeder meets the highest standards.
